The Bible started with the phrase "in the beginning..." (Gen 1:1). But have you ever considered what was there before the beginning?
We have heard time and time again these words from Genesis 1:1, that even persons who have not read the Bible can quote it without missing a word.
But before the beginning, what was?
We know you are have read this passage of the scripture before or have heard someone teach or preach from it, but do you mind reflecting on the question for a sincere 30 seconds?
The idea is to bring us into the reality of that question. Even the writer had to reflect too. Thank you for reflecting on it.
This is the truth, each and every one of us before now have lived in that reality; the reality before the beginning.
This may be a split second or a moment before you begin that chore, that project or before making that nerve-racking call to secure that appointment or contract. That indeed was a before the beginning experience.
Now to what was before the beginning of everything that we see today.
The fourth word in Genesis 1:1 reveals the first personality that was:
"In the beginning ‘God’..." NKJV.
Beyond this first verse scripture reveals this Truth with more verses:
…“We (the twenty-four elders) give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.
Revelation 11:17 NKJV (emphasis added).
Even Jesus in Revelations brings clarity to this truth:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord (Jesus), “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8 NKJV (emphasis added).
Now scripture have revealed to us, The God Who was before the beginning, but we believe that from the pages of the scriptures that there is one more to what was before the beginning.
